IELTS Worldwide Search Grants for Scholarships


IELTS Grants for Scholarships tests all four language skills – listening, reading, writing and speaking. The Speaking test is a face-to-face interview with a certified Examiner. It is interactive and as close to a real-life situation as a test can get.

Sida Grants for Scholarships


The Grants for Scholarships aim of cooperation is to award the reduction of poverty. Applicants must have experience of working and show a commitment to reduce poverty, to be eligible to work in support. Applicants must submit a written account of their experiences and their intentions after graduation to work in the fight against poverty offer.

Grants for Scholarships Nationals of Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam and Myanmar (restrictions) are eligible. Female candidates are encouraged. Applicants from rural areas or those in rural areas (including small towns) a priority in the selection. In the past, are the recipients of scholarships in the target countries much further from the large urban centers.

The allocation of Grants for Scholarships is on a competitive basis to any of the Field of Study (FoS) at AIT. The amount of the scholarship for each student is flexible, depending on the level of support (pre-study and during study) that each student may require, as it is expected that most applicants are in need of additional support in language, computers and other academic skills. AIT will establish in-country support programs as necessary in order to achieve the objectives of the program. The scholarships may be offered as flexible Masters where the student can arrange the study periods at AIT around work commitments.

The Grants for Scholarships admitting students under this programme shall take responsibility of ensuring that all students comply with the conditions and requirements in terms of courses and thesis topics as stipulated in the offer letter to the relevant candidates (see outline below).

PhD Grants for Scholarships offered under this programme (tentatively beginning in 2011) are expected to have access to additional research funds through the support by Sida to AIT for research.

Specific requirements of the Scholarship recipient to be include in the offer letter.

1. An individualized study plan must be developed by the Student and his/her supervisor, this should include any need for additional tutoring/mentoring during the study period and if the student require a flexible-MSc/PhD programme to fit with work or other commitments. This plan must include two (or more) credits in courses identified as addressing poverty issues.

2. The thesis topic must address poverty issues (preferably in the Students home country).

3. The Student is committed to engage in follow up and monitoring activities once the studies are completed (i.e. after graduation).

PhD Grants for Scholarships in the Field of Sociology of Education


Grants for Scholarships The early stage researcher/PhD student will be a member of the LCMI research unit (Language, Culture, Media and Identities) within the Faculty of Language and Literature, Humanities, Arts and Education at the University of Luxembourg. He/she will work under the tutelage of the head of the LCMI research unit Professor Dr. Daniel Tröhler and Associate Professor Dr. Andreas Hadjar.
Activities

Writing of a thesis in the domain of sociology of education; focus on educational inequalities (e.g. migration background) and characteristics of educational systems
Contribute to research in the field of educational inequalities
Contribute to teaching in the domains of educational sociology (educational systems, educational inequalities) and methods of social science research

Profile

Grants for Scholarships Master’s degree or a diploma in sociology or social sciences
Profound knowledge of theories and empirical findings on educational inequalities and how different institutional settings (educational system) affect educational inequalities
Be experienced in quantitative research methods (including sound knowledge of specific software like SPSS, STATA, AMOS, MPLUS, HLM etc.)
Excellent command of at least two of the following languages: German, English, French
